The ground
A town built to be fought over
The battlefield is not an open field with bunkers dropped on it. It is a purpose-built combat town: streets and intersections, storefronts with names, alleys narrow enough that two tanks cannot pass, and hard cover that changes what a crew can see.
Sight lines were laid out so that no single position controls the town. To win you have to move, and moving is where the fun and the mistakes are.
The building
Welcome Center
A two-story building holds check-in, the retail counter, party rooms and the tank staging bay where crews are matched to machines.
Upstairs, an open-air observation deck looks straight down the main street — for grandparents, younger siblings and anyone who came for the noise but not the paint.
Getting here
Directions
From Atlanta
I-575 north to GA-515. About an hour and forty minutes door to door. The last twenty minutes are the good part of the drive.
From Blue Ridge
South on GA-515 toward Ellijay, roughly twenty minutes.
From Chattanooga or Knoxville
Two hours and two and a half hours respectively, mostly on four-lane.
